The only exceptions are the United States and Canada, where the business sectors operate as EMD Serono in healthcare, MilliporeSigma in life science, and EMD Performance Materials.
Merck was incorporated in India as E. Merck India Private Limited in 1967. In 2017, we completed 50 years in India, starting out as a pharmaceutical company and growing to become a science and technology business spanning all the sectors of Healthcare, Life Science and Performance Materials.
In India, Merck has offices, manufacturing sites and IT centres across Mumbai and Bengaluru. Sales offices are located in Delhi, Kolkatta and Hyderabad. Over 2000 employees represent Merck in India.
